Every week, coaches at @simmscompletecamps will select one play that they deem to be the “clutch play of the week”. This is a play that exemplifies an athlete executing their task with precision, under pressure.

The purpose of this series is to break down the film and dissect the mental game, and bring to light the hidden mental skills that are at play when we see clutch plays.

From the classroom, to the field, athletes at Simms are working on perfecting their skills.
With the pressures of the coaches and teammates watching you, and the need to make the most of the camp, the athletes that are locked in mentally will be the ones that thrive. It is the mind that sets the standard.

These mental skills that help you be “clutch” are due to chance. Much like physical skills, these are trainable. Through individualized plans, our sports mental health and performance program helps athletes master the mental game and win the battle between the ears.
