Geoffrey Hillback, LCSW is a psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, OCD, communication challenges, confidence issues, executive coaching, relationship issues, and anger management. He also has expertise with men’s issues and helping clients navigate the aging and change processes.

Geoffrey believes in a client-centered approach to effective problem-solving, and his clinical knowledge and experience allow him to help clients with their unique goals and challenges. Having spent more than a decade as a professional actor, director, and acting teacher, he has applied many of the techniques he learned in that field to assist clients who are facing anxiety and/or communication challenges. He is an empathetic communicator, passionate about helping his clients develop insight and tools to improve their lives. He continually strives to make the therapy experience a positive, safe, and rewarding one.

Geoffrey’s education and internships in hospital and outpatient settings helped him develop a diverse set of tools and techniques focused on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), emotional focused therapy (EFT), all within a mindfulness base. He uses these methods to help clients recognize patterns and habits that don’t serve them, and to develop patterns and habits that do.

Geoffrey has several years’ experience working in a partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program where he ran therapeutic groups and worked one-on-one with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples dealing with significant mental health issues.  He has been with The Lukin Center for over 4 years.

Geoffrey attended the Fordham Graduate School of Social Services, where he graduated with honors and a dual focus master’s degree (MSW) in clinical social work and leadership. He earned his BA from Connecticut College in New London, CT where he double majored in psychology and theater.
