Lisa Sbahia, LPC, LCADC Licensed Psychotherapist Lisa Sbahia, LPC, LCADC, is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with adults with a history of trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, relationship issues, psychosocial issues and addiction. Lisa uses evidence-based treatment modalities, including dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as frameworks to build on effective coping skills. Using a person-centered approach, Lisa focuses on the therapeutic alliance to foster a safe environment in therapy. Lisa also specializes in the use of body and breath work to address trauma responses. Lisa focuses on building realistic treatment plans for patients to facilitate change, self-awareness and continued growth. Lisa has specialized in men’s trauma work and treatment in addition to having extensive clinical experience at the inpatient and outpatient levels of care. She also has experience working in a partial hospitalization/intensive outpatient program providing individual, group, and family therapy to adults with acute mental health struggles. Lisa is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and uses trauma informed care to best treat her patients. Lisa earned her BA from Drew University where she double majored in psychology and sociology. She attended Fairleigh Dickinson University, where she earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
